About me

“Only when we are brave enough to explore the darkness will we discover the infinite power of our light” - Brené Brown

I am a down to earth, professional therapist and I love being able to support people deeply and in a way that aligns with my values. During sessions, I listen closely, noticing what is unspoken and I stay with you even when things feel messy or uncertain. Therapy with myself is a warm and non clinical experience, validating and sometimes even light. Equally as important, it also leaves room for honesty and discomfort for the things we often avoid elsewhere.

My approach is compassionate, open and tailored to your unique needs, ensuring that you feel respected, understood and valued. I would describe myself as gentle but challenging when appropriate. I am authentic as I believe it is vital to embrace our human nature, being perfectly imperfect! I have always been a deep thinker, whilst having the ability to empathise with other people at depth. These aspects of myself heavily contribute and enhance my work as a therapist.

Being diagnosed as neurodivergent later in life shaped how I see things and how I work. I have a special interest in supporting others who are exploring their own neurodivergence, whether newly diagnosed, self identifying or still figuring it out.

Outside of counselling, I like to spend time with the people I love, laughing with friends and exploring. Life can be chaotic, we are living in a fast past world where our attention is being demanded and pulled in all sorts of directions. I find it important to incorporate activities that ground me like walks in nature, reading and enjoying the simple but beautiful experiences we can often miss when we are stuck in our minds. Dog walks are one of my most favourite past times, I love nothing more than watching them run and chase balls, their wagging tails and their love for simple activities brings me so much joy! After being dog obsessed for years, I am now also a cat lover. I find my cats calming and soothing, they remind me to slow down and be present. I also try to practice mindfulness, yoga and meditation regularly, which helps me come back to myself and stay centred during a storm.

However, most importantly I am a human being.

I am regularly moved and inspired by my clients, this propels me to expand my therapeutic knowledge with continuous professional development (CPD), my most recent training endeavours have included attachment issues, working with neurodivergence and training in motivational interviewing. All BACP counsellors are required to attend monthly supervision, I find great value in supervision as this enables me to explore and develop my client work with another professional.
